About Us
The Snake River Animal Shelter (SRAS) is the only non-profit animal sheltering facility serving all of East Idaho, located on the banks of the Snake River in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Our community needed a non-profit shelter that would offer education opportunities on the humane treatment of animals as well as implement innovative programs to alleviate the problem of too many unwanted domestic animals. All of the animals that come to SRAS are given an unlimited length of stay, but our primary goal is to find every critter in our care a forever home as soon as possible.
It’s our mission to improve and save animal lives by promoting quality care and compassion through adoption and humane education in the region. Every animal that leaves the shelter is spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.
The Snake River Animal Shelter’s vision is to be the leader in our region through operational best practices and impactful programs to increase the number of animal lives saved.
